Payments and Accommodation Deposit

Accommodation Deposit

After your application has been approved and your reservation has been created, you must pay the accommodation deposit within 14 days at the latest. The deposit is equal to 30 times the daily accommodation rate for your chosen type of accommodation.

Payment of the deposit in full is a condition for signing the accommodation agreement. Students who are already staying in the dormitories may, with prior approval, use the deposit paid for the previous period, provided that it corresponds to the required amount.

Ways to Pay for Accommodation

Accommodation fees and other charges can be paid in several ways:

  • direct debit from a bank account (the recommended method is described in the guide),
  • bank transfer,
  • online payment via the GP WebPay payment gateway (please follow the guide),
  • payment by card at Accommodation and Dining Services offices equipped with a payment terminal,
  • cash (except for the first payment upon move-in, cash payments are subject to a handling fee).

We do not recommend setting up a standing order, as the accommodation fee changes each month depending on the number of days in the month.

Sustainable Dormitories

Municipal Waste Fee for International Students

International students may be required to pay a local municipal waste fee. For the latest information, please visit the official website of the City of Olomouc.

Waste Sorting

At Palacký University dormitories, we promote environmentally responsible behaviour and sort our waste. Practical information on what to sort and where, including an overview of waste sorting points, is available on the Sustainable University website.

Students can also use waste sorting bags at the dormitories. The Sustainable University website also features a map of waste containers and compost bins across the dormitory premises.

How to Live More Sustainably at the Dormitories

Sustainability at the dormitories is about more than just sorting waste. Palacký University offers a range of ways to reduce waste and save resources:

  • Freeshop – a reuse centre at Palacký University where you can donate items you no longer need and give them a second life, or take something home for yourself.

  • Community Garden – a space for growing plants, meeting others and taking part in shared activities.

  • REkrabičky – reusable food containers available at Palacký University canteens as an alternative to single-use packaging. Please note that, for hygiene reasons, meals cannot be served in your own containers.

  • Drinking Water Fountains – facilities at the dormitories where you can refill your water bottle with drinking water and reduce your use of single-use plastic bottles.

For more information about sustainability initiatives at Palacký University, visit the Sustainable University website and the website of the student association Udržitelný Palacký.

We recommend following these steps in order:

  1. Check whether the internet connection works in other locations or on other devices.
